How does the author use foreshadowing in Graven Images?

The stories are told in chronological order without flashbacks. There is some
foreshadowing used as can be seen in Saint Crispin's Follower and The Man of
Influence. The reader can easily surmise that Nicholas will trust and come to rely on
Saint Crispin. It is also rather clear that the ghost in The Man of Influence is not what
Zorelli wants him to be but instead reveals the ugly side of human nature.
