Linda is Daniel's former wife, and Susan's deceased mother. Her parents are Lois and Gerry, and her brother is Paul. As a young woman, Linda runs her parents arcade, and is known for her beauty throughout the town. Similar to her daughter, Linda is bookish and quiet in public, but has a temper. Also like Susan, Linda is quite promiscuous in her youth. Finally she settles for Danny, who her family despises, and believe does not deserve her. When Linda finds out she is pregnant, the two decide to get married. For the early years of their relationship, the two are completely infatuated with one another. But when Danny starts suspecting Linda's infidelity, he is desperate to control her and keep him to her self. His obsessive paranoia escalates and Danny becomes violent, attacking any man who even looks at Linda. Feeling trapped and scared, Linda threatens to leave Danny and take their three-year-old daughter Susan with her. In a fit of rage, Danny stabs Linda to death with a kitchen knife in front of his daughter.
