Hun-Kamé is the older twin of Vucub-Kamé who was tricked by Cirilio and Vucub-Kamé, cut into pieces, and sealed into a chest for more than 50 years. When Casiopea releases him, Hun-Kamé only cares about finding the missing pieces of himself and defeating his brother. However, over the course of the novel, thanks to his connection to Casiopea, Hun-Kamé learns human emotions such as kindness, sadness, and love. This allows him to forgive Vucub-Kamé at the end of the novel. This allows Xibalba to grow flowers for the first time, as Hun-Kamé understands good dreams as well as nightmares. His only regret is that he cannot return to MIddleworld with Casiopea, as Hun-Kamé comes to truly love her over the course of their journey.
