The novel is written in the everyday vernacular of English. There are few difficult words and no terms with hidden meanings. The language and meaning are designed for quick and easy reading with little to slow the reader down. There are a few foreign language terms that are not defined but in no way detract from the action of the novel. It is not the language and meaning that create confusion in the minds of the reader, it is the various situations in the novel.
