Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World

Why was the spirit banner made? How was it important? How did it get destroyed?

I want to know how it was made, how it wasn't important, and how it was destroyed

The Spirit Banner or the sulde was made by tying strands of hair from the best stallions and fixing them to the shaft of a spear. It proclaimed the warrior's identity and his role of perpetual guardian. Totalitarian politics of the 20th century eventually killed these warrior monks and their spirit banners.
