Who is Alexandros from Gates of Fire and what is their importance?

Unlike the majority of Spartan sons, Alexandros doesn't gravitate toward warfare and much prefers music. He trains hard alongside Xeones and fights adequately in battle. Unfortunately, he loses his spearhand in the midst of battle.
