Dindenault is a merchant. He comes from Taillebourg and is present on a ship that Pantagruel's men encounter five days after leaving Medamothi. The merchant insults Panurge when he says that he appears to be a cuckold. The ship's master, however, keeps them from getting into a fight. In return for the insult, Panurge convinces Dindenault to sell him a sheep, which he proceeds to throw overboard..... the rest of the flock follows. Dindenault follows the flock and Panurge leaves him to drown...... in fact, he helps him to drown by pushing him away from the ship with an oar.
