Who is Catty-claws from Gargantua and Pantagruel and what is their importance?

Catty-claws, the Archduke of the Furry Scribble-cats, lives on the Isle of Wizket-Gate. When Pantagruel and his men are arrested on the island, Catty-claws offers them a riddle and a chance to safely leave if they solve it. Panurge both solves and fulfills the requirements of the riddle.
