Who is Naomi from Fugitive Pieces and what is their importance?

Naomi is Ben's wife. Ben is the narrator of Book II. She is described as naturally beautiful, organized, and incredibly intelligent. She is also blessed with a natural compassion for humanity that both endears her husband and makes him jealous... all at the same time. When Ben travels to Greece to collect Jakob's journals, he knows that he is doing what might be irrepairable damage to his marriage... he even has an affair with a young woman after arriving in Greece, but in the end, when he returns home, he has finanally come to understand that he needs and wants his wife.
