Who is Karen Holmes from the movie, From Here to Eternity?

Karen Holmes is Holmes's wife. She is lonely and neglected and takes pride in looking good around the base. When she meets Warden, she is completely taken with him. They begin a serious affair, and she falls in love.

Karen wants Warden to take a promotion so that they can move back to the States together. Although she begs him to do this for her at first, she eventually realizes that he has no plans to be promoted, and she refuses to stay with him on the island.
