In Chapter 23, we see Victor reach his breaking point. Following Elizabeth's murder, his father's death, and all of the other deaths that the creature was responsible, Victor goes mad. Everything he loved has been taken away, and he is consumed by thoughts of revenge. It is at this point that Victor dedicates himself to pursuing the monster.
