Miss Tesman is a minor character in the play, Hedda Gabler. Her primary purpose serves to define the character of her nephew, Tesman, and to antagonize Hedda. It is evident that Miss Tesman genuinely cares for both her nephew and Hedda, even though, she is primarily portrayed as a busybody, who is interested in controlling the lives around her almost as much as Hedda.
