"Flush" by Carl Hiaasen is written in the first person narrative. Noah Underwood is the juvenile protagonist of the story and the story is written from his perspective. By writing from Noah's point of view, the reader has the advantage of knowing how some very adult issues are seen through the filter of adolescence. The author chose a perspective that was both interesting and informative. It would appeal to youthful readers as well as their parents who could have some insight into what it's like for a child when he is over-burdened with adult problems.
