Stanley Kubrick became the most important American filmmaker during the 1960s. He focused on genre films that were based on actual events. In 1961, Kubrick moved to Great Britain. Kubrick's films include Spartacus, Lolita, A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
