Alfred Hitchcock was one of London's most famous filmmakers. Hitchcock moved to America in 1939 and experienced his greatest period of filmmaking in the 1950s. He was artistic for the critics, and yet, he also knew how to please an audience. He was also a brilliant marketer, who made sure the audience remembered his name, as well as the name of his movies.
