Who is Christian Grey in the novel, Fifty Shades of Grey?

Christian Grey is a very young business tycoon who is highly successful. Christian is very controlling, not only in his business but in his private life as well. As the reader gets to know Christian, it becomes evident that he is emotionally damaged from a difficult childhood. Christian was born to a crack addicted mother and, although he was adopted at four, his mother neglected him and abused him to such a degree that he struggles with several emotional hang ups.
