Who is Lauren?

Lauren is Maya's adoptive little sister. She was born just after Maya was adopted and is redheaded like her parents. Lauren loves and looks up to Maya, but Maya teases and pushes her away, because she represents something Maya wishes she had. Maya thinks that Lauren will always be chosen first by her parents, because she is their biological daughter. Since Maya does not look like her family, she feels like the odd one out, and takes her anger out on Lauren.
