Sulla was a statesman in the senate, as well as a respected Roman general. As a direct response to his conflict with Marius, Sulla's forces take control of Rome, and Sulla implements a dictatorship. Sulla does of natural causes, and although his enemies demand no funeral rites take place, Pompey insists he have a proper burial.
