A dystopian society is a society that has several conditions that make it dysfunctional. One such condition is that the people are miserable, there is most often poverty, oppression, violence and a majority of the population suffer while a small elite minority rule and enjoy extravagant luxuries. 451 exemplifies this as most of the people blindly accept the limits placed on them.
