The tone of Fahrenheit 451 is eerily futuristic and gloomy. It is dystopian fiction at its best. The book makes me thing how our own society eerily mirrors many aspects of Bradbury's dystopian future. Critical thinking among the masses is at a low point: things and people are disposable. There is a desperate cynical almost futile voice to the prose.
