In Esperanza Rising what chapter shows a change in identity

In my opinion, the biggest change is Esperanza come when she realizes that her mother needs her..... and that her mother needs Abuelita. This is the moment when Espernza unselfishly decides that someone else's needs come first...... and it is time for her to go to work and share some of the load. (Chapter Nine)
