MAUS What happened once Vladek was released? Why did the train not stop at Sosnowiec?

The train takes Vladek through occupied Poland towards Sosnowiec, but the train travels past Sosnowiec, which is now officially part of Germany. He is later let off in Lublin, in the heart of the Reich Protectorate.
