Alienation and Loneliness are themes in this book. Ender feels alone for much of the novel. He is taken from his family and placed in battle school. He is manipulated by adults in authority. Ender is also alienated at home. Other kids pick on him and his brother Peter abuses him. His only close connection is his sister Valentine.
