What does Irulan desire? Why?

Irulan desires little more than to be the mother of Paul's children. She desires this because it would grant her immense personal power, and guarantee her place in history within Paul's empire. Her present position is highly uncertain, and if she dies before bearing children, she risks disappearing into history entirely.
