David Sedaris is a successful and able writer who relates the stories from his life in a clear and charming manner. Even though the subject matter is often one of abuse and abandonment, David Sedaris often brings the point home aptly with charm and biting humor. He speaks of the isolation of his family in what is a normal and friendly neighborhood. Looking back, he realized that it was his family that isolated itself.
