Yong is an older woman from Shanghai. She was sent to the Green Dragon Village because of her bound feet, which made her an outcast. Yong keeps a sense of respect in the commune until they turn against her, and she is ordered to unbind her feet and walk on them, joining the rest of the village working in the fields. She eventually succumbs to starvation and dies.
