Significance of Chicken Feathers

Fizban tries to let down himself, Tas and Sestun while they are escaping the dragon, but instead of making them feather fall he creates a pile of feathers. Fizban dies here, but at the very end of the story while Tas is thinking of Fizban, he sees a single chicken feather float down out of nowhere.
