What is the author's style in Doctor No by Ian Fleming?

The point of view of the novel is third person omniscient. The author uses James Bond as his narrating character, showing much of the novel through Bond's eyes. The author also allows the reader to see and feel Bond's emotions, creating the situation in which the narration becomes omniscient or all knowing. This point of view allows the reader to have greater insight into Bond's actions by giving the reader an inside peek at his reasoning. Bond becomes involved in this case because he is ordered to do so by his agency, but the way Bond precedes once he arrives in Jamaica is based on his reactions to events taking place around him. Due to this and the insight provided by the point of view, the reader is better able to follow Bond's reasoning and understand why the plot takes on the directions it does.
