"A Trilogy of Journeys" was a poem by Kathy Boudin where she marveled and remembered when her son was born. The middle of the poem described the son growing and developing, but not yet ready to leave on his own. The last part of the poem depicted a treasured atlas where Route 80 was marked with a red thin line. It started in the middle of the country in Davenport, Iowa and traveled west to California as the author and her husband had traveled the same path years prior. Kathy yearned to be in the car with him as a passenger rather than being in prison.
