Amal breaks the strict uniform policy by wearing the hajib. Since the school uniform is a symbol of the control Ms. Walsh expects to have over the students, she is very upset when Amal arrives wearing the hajib. However, Ms. Walsh agrees to allow the hajib as long as Amal stays with maroon material to match the school uniforms.
