One of the most interesting examples of symbolism in "Dharma" occurs when Jago returns to his childhood home after a long absence. One of the first things he notices after his arrival is the smell of gun oil from an old hunting rifle. The scent is a symbol of how Jago's sense memories are filled with violence.
