Delirium is a dystopian novel, set in an uspecified time in the future. Portland, Maine is the novel's main setting, and it is a place of large fences, government control, and virtual imprisonment. The fences are tall and electrified, policed by guards.... no one is allowed outside the boundary.

The setting outside of Portland is called the Wilds... a place the city folk are warned against, but in reality, a place of freedom. Abandoned houses, secret beaches, freedom from prying eyes...... sunsets and stars.
