Joanna Southwood, Death on the Nile, is one of Linnet's friends. She comes to stay for a while with Linnet. As it turns out she is also one of the key suspects in a string of jewelry thefts that have been taking place in the area. She is releated to Tim Allerton who is also aboard the ship where Linnet and Simon are murdered.
