On page 181, Justyce’s mama says: “I’m not shakin’ no white man’s hand, Justyce. Not after what the other one did to you.” Can you see her point? Or, do you agree with Justyce that this attitude doesn't solve anything?

This question calls for your opinion, there is no right or wrong answer. I can understand Mama's feelings, but I also agree with Justyce, refusing to acknowledge an extended hand does nothing to help... it doesn't solve anything.
