How does the author use foreshadowing in Deadfolk?

The threat posed to Blake's safety by the Munton brothers is introduced in the form of the Meat Wagon. The rough camaraderie between Blake and his two friends threatens to sour after he accidentally head butts Legs, after which, Blake says that everything went wrong after that head butt.... foreshadowing the danger to come.
