Whitey is David's friend. David and Whitey meet when David starts going to public school back in Merryvale Township. At the beginning of the novel, Whitey comes to visit David in the city. While he's there, Whitey picks up a woman in a bar and goes home with her. As he is leaving this woman's apartment, Whitey is killed.
