David Baldacci's novel, The Winner, is written from the third person point of view. The characters speak to one another through dialogue. Supporting text describes the scene, the characters' mindsets and their emotions. While not rendering as much empathy as a book written in the first person, The Winner does not require a sentimental approach. The reader receives adequate information for scene and character building and the story is interesting.
