Cradle and All is split between three sites. The primary location is Newport, Rhode Island at the home of Kathleen Beavier. The Newport home is located along the ocean and is expansive. Glimpses into Kathleen's life portray her family as being wealthy but distant. The home is the kind of dwelling that others might covet. Additional important settings are Maam Cross, Ireland (the home of Colleen Galaher) and the Vatican in Rome. Maam Cross is a small village. Inside the village live people who seem to be set in their ways.
