Forgiveness is a recurring idea. When Katrina shows her grandmother a receipt she has found that proves that Mr. Darling is a fraud, Anna advises Katrina to get rid of it. Anna does not feel that it is right to use such dirty tactics to fight an enemy, even one as dastardly as Mr. Darling. Anna then tells Katrina that forgiveness is an important part of life and that they should forgive Mr. Darling for the wrongs he has tried to commit against them.
