While Jen is still somewhat embarrassed about not being able to finish the mud run she attempted the previous year, for her, finishing the mud run is more of a personal accomplishment instead of a source of bragging rights. Although Jen is outwardly fun and sassy, she is remarkably disciplined about training for the mud run, regularly meeting with trainer Garth for almost the entire school year before her attempt. Jen does not brag to others once she has successfully completed the mud run, but instead feels an internal sense of accomplishment.
