How does the author use foreshadowing in Children of a Lesser God?

In Act II, during her fight with Orin, Sarah realizes that she has to make a choice, that she can't be split between the hearing and the deaf world the way she is. She doesn't make the choice immediately, but the scene foreshadows the decision that she will make in the near future.
