Who is Gloria DeLauter from Chesapeake Blue and what is their importance?

Gloria DeLauter is the child born of Ray and Stella's affair, although Ray was unaware if her existence. Years later, Gloria tracks Ray down and uses blackmail and extortion to obtain money from him. Later, she gives Ray her son for monetary gains, but Ray dies before he can tell his grandson or his adopted sons about the connection.
Gloria is described as a woman in her late forties, who looks older. She is overly thin and has bleached blond hair that is cut short and spiked. She was raised in an upper class family with all of the advantages and benefits that come along with it. Unfortunately, she consistently sought the lowest common denominator in her life. Her entire existence revolved around her own self indulgences.
