Ceremony (Silko)

Silko’s use of symbolic imagery often makes use of contrasting opposites: dryness and wetness; mountains and canyons; city and country; sunrise and darkness. What values do these terms represent in the novel?

I think they represent Tayo's own journey of extremes through www2 and after he returns home. So many of the book's themes involve extremes like violence, racism, identity....
