How does Birdy's mother feel about Birdy's impending marriage? How does Birdy's point of view differ from her mother's?

Catherine fights against her impending marriage for three years. She even considers running away and becoming a monk or leaving to join the crusades. Catherine's mother believes her daughter should respect her father's wishes..... that Catherine should do her duty. She does, however, ask that the marriage be postponed until after the birth of the child she is carrying.
