Pilate continues to be remembered due to the political position he held at the time of Christ's life, trial and death. Pilate was the representative of Roman Law in the area where the Jews were living and where Christ met his end. Pilate pressured by a mob and by the relationship between Hebrew and Roman laws to execute Christ by crucifiction.
