Catching Fire is a dsytopian view of a world where nothing is really as it seems. The government has taken great pains to disguise the cold brutality of the Games as well as the lifestyles of those that live outside of Capital City. People who seem trustworthy to Katniss are not, and those who do not seem likely friends, are. Additionally, she has to pretend to be someone she is not, wear clothing she never would wear, and even pretend to marry someone that she's not sure she's even in love with...all to keep up the appearances.
