The tone is informative and introspective. The tone of the novel is straightforward and matter-of-fact. There are few emotional descriptions, although the narrator does indulge in some descriptive passages to capture more of the scene as it evolves. The narrator does not allow the reader to engage in much analysis since he uses all of the information at hand to deduce what was going on at any particular event. It is obvious that the narrator has a wide range of information that he uses to cover all of the events covered in the novel.
