When Big Daddy chases Brick in the pouring rain to let him know that him Skipper's death was not his fault..... that life is more than the applause of men. In using this imagery, Williams illustrates that Big Daddy confronts his son with the truth, and that in return, Brick reveals that Big Daddy has cancer. The imagery of the rain parallels the downpour of truth.
