Poetry and photographs represent alternative ways of doing things. For the young frogs in the comic club, poetry and photographs are viable alternatives to writing and illustrating the “traditional graphic novel.” Lil' Petey helps the frogs realize they can use whatever talents they naturally have, meaning that someone who is not talented at drawing could still create good comics with photographs. If someone enjoys writing poetry more than prose, that is okay, too.
