The children's determination to participate in the tournament brings the town together, and although they do not win, they are ecstatic when one game ends in a tie, as this is the first time the team in Borg has not lost a game in a long time. The simple act of the team going to the competition stirs a new hope in the village, as the people rally behind the players.
